This Privacy Policy explains how OldSchoolTV collects, uses, stores, and discloses information when you use the service, including viewer pages, Contact Us submissions, and user-managed channel features.
2. Information We Collect
We may process the following categories of information:
(a) Operational telemetry, such as channel/session activity and heartbeat events used to provide synchronized
playback features, live indicators, and reliability monitoring.
(b) Contact Us form data, including name, email, request type/content, and optional fields you submit.
(c) Security and abuse-prevention metadata, including hashed IP/user-agent values for rate limiting and abuse controls.
(d) User panel session data, including an HttpOnly session cookie used to gate access to /user.
(e) Local browser data for CH 0 user channel features (for example, playlist state) stored on your device.
3. Cookies and Local Storage
We use a session cookie for authenticated access to the /user panel. We also use browser storage for local
feature preferences and user-managed CH 0 playlist state. Local CH 0 data is stored in your browser context and is not
written into shared channel configuration.
4. How We Use Information
We use information to operate and secure the service, process Contact Us submissions, enforce abuse controls, support diagnostics, and improve service stability and functionality.
5. Legal Basis and Consent
Depending on your jurisdiction, our processing is based on your consent, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, and compliance with legal obligations.
6. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights/security, or to trusted service providers operating infrastructure on our behalf under appropriate confidentiality obligations.
7. Third-Party Services
Video playback relies on YouTube embeds and related platform infrastructure. Support/tipping features may use third-party providers. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
8. Data Retention
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including service operation, abuse prevention, and legal compliance.
9. Security
We apply reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information. However, no internet or storage system can be guaranteed 100% secure.
10. Your Choices
You may choose whether to submit Contact Us information. You may also clear browser cookies/local storage, which may remove session and local feature state.
11. International Access
If you access the service from outside our primary operating jurisdiction, you acknowledge that information may be processed in jurisdictions with different data protection laws.
12. Children's Privacy
The service is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions become effective when posted on this page unless otherwise stated. Continued use of the service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
